Viking Origins
Vikings are the names of people from the Scandinavian peninsula. They can be merchants, warriors, pirates or adventurers. Referring to the Vikings, many people often think of mighty warriors who often sailed on the ocean to plunder and invade territory. The Viking glory days were known for their notorious pirates. They fought throughout Europe and the North Atlantic region. Characteristic of the Vikings were oak ships. These warships are very long and often bend the 2 ends of the ship. They used to roam around in boats and take over most of Europe
Vikings never wore horned hats: Although movies and comics both bomber jacket depict ancient vikings with extremely strong and combative buffalo horn hats. However, there is no historical evidence that the Vikings wore this hat. They actually still wear hats, to protect their heads. However, the horns are cinematic masterpieces. They are added to portray strength. And this leads to the misunderstanding of many parts of the people, passionate about cinema.
The Vikings were not as big and colossal as we thought: As we often see in movies and books. Vikings were tall, muscular warriors. They are the dragon slayers, the hegemonic rulers of the sea. The truth is, the Vikings weren't that big. The average height of the Vikings according to scientists is 1m7, and they have a thin body. The reason is that on that day, the Vikings often sailed at sea with limited food resources. And that's why they often invade and plunder to improve their meals.

According to Norse beliefs, it was believed that great warriors would need a ship to reach the Viking holy place, Valhalla. So the lost were buried in boats with weapons, food, and treasure. There were even slaves accompanying them to serve their masters in the afterlife.
